Here's What Some of Our Past Tour Participants Have to Say
...
The reason for this
email is to sing the
praises of our wonderful
tour guide Marty Apter.
It was such a delight to
listen to his knowledge
and sense of humor while
on the tour. He was go
gracious and we left
feeling as though we had
made a friend in NYC. I
would highly recommend
the tour to anyone and
would only hope that
they would be fortunate
enough to be placed with
Marty. Thank You, JD,
Salem, OR
I'd
just like to say what an
AMAZING tour guide you have
in Jonathon. I did your
Lower Manhattan Walking Tour
with him last Sunday....he
was GREAT! So informative
and friendly.....a fine
ambassador for your company!
Thanks for a great time

I wanted to give you some feedback
on one of your tour guides - Jared.
My family took the tour of the World
Trade Center site on April 14.
Jared did a wonderful job. He had a
lot of knowledge of what had
happened, what was currently
happening and what was planned to
happen at and around the site. The
tour was very comprehensive. We
traveled at a good pace and got to
see a lot of the southern portion of
Manhattan. He also gave us some
great tips about other things to do
and see in New York. We really
enjoyed our time with Jared. I
would definitely recommend him to
others who are touring the city.
Thank you. KM
I am so sorry is has taken so
long to send this e-mail. I am
sending this to you about Jared
our tour guide that we had on
April 14th! He gave the 6 of us
one of the best tours I have
ever experienced. Jared was so
full of information and answered
every question that we asked.
We even had 2 children in our
group and he was very patient
with them. He is a definite
keeper. Jared went above and
beyond for our tour!! We still
talk about going over the bridge
on the subway. Jared thank you
so much and I hope your books
are coming along!!! Thank you so
much. LM, Oldsmar FL

Despite the weather, I was happy to
receive so much by Monsieur Martin
Apter-it was funny and very interesting.

I wanted to write to you to tell you how much I
enjoyed your walking tour of Lower Manhattan. I
went on your walking tour on 3-31-07 my tour
guides name was Tony. He was very informative
and easy to understand. I hope that you get
many good comments on him. It was a very
enjoyable day. Thank you again for one of the
best experiences I had while on my trip to New
York. Sincerely, JG Minneapolis, Minnesota
I just wanted to tell you that we truly enjoyed
having Tony as our guide. He kept the tour
entertaining, informative and upbeat. He was very
knowledgeable and the members and parents enjoyed
him as well. Thank you for selecting Tony to be our
guide and if we do this tour or any other we would
like to have Tony as our guide.
Darryl
Just wanted to tell you how much
we enjoyed our tour of lower Manhattan with Marty
Apter on Sun., Sept. 3, 2006. His knowledge, sense
of humor and obvious passion for the city of New
York made this a most enjoyable and informative tour
for CA folks visiting the Big Apple for the first
time! Magdaleno and Deborah, Riverside CA
Hi folks,
Just a quick note to say
thanks for having such a great tour guide like Marty
Apter on your team. He is a true New Yorker full of life
and hope.
I took the tour this morning,
Sept 1st, and had a wonderful informative tour of the
lower part of Manhattan. Marty was full of wonderful
information from our beginning days to the current. It
was a very moving and spiritual tour more than a fun and
laughing one, but that was expected given our past sad
history.
I enjoyed every moment. Keep
up the good work, and I'll check with you when I plan on
another visit to the Big Apple.
Grateful to be an American,
thanks, Larry O
My husband and I went on the
Ground Zero tour with Tony on Saturday, July 29. We found
him to be courteous, professional, enthusiastic and
extremely knowledgeable. We enjoyed the way he managed the
group and helped us to learn how to look more like New
Yorkers! We learned so much about the history and events
around 9-11. We knew it was a terrible tragedy and now
understand it even better. His information about related
landmarks was interesting, too, like St. Paul's chapel, the
Stock Exchange and the financial district. Super job, Tony.
Thank you! SK Lutz FL
On Friday, July 28, my daughter, who lives in the city, and
I, who live in the Midwest, took the three-hour walking tour
with Tony. When I booked the tour, I hoped that a
significant portion of the tour would center on Ground
Zero. It definitely did! The tour was exceptionally
interesting and in many cases quite touching. Tony is
extremely knowledgeable and obviously has a wonderful
passion for NYC. The tour was well-paced, with a planned
restroom and snack break. I highly recommend this tour and
will tell four friends who will be coming to New York next
summer that this is a "must-do" on their itinerary. Thank
you to Tony and New York City Vacation Packages for an
outstanding tour. SH, Bloomington IL
The tour
was surely one of the most memorable parts of our trip to
New York. Daryl was the most courteous and delightful tour
guide we could have hoped for. He was very respectful of our
time and of our ages. (Several of us didn’t realize just how
“old” we really were!) He was so patient and considerate of
our large group. He always answered all of our many
questions and he made certain that we had ample time to view
each of the sites. He supplied us with so much information
that helped us to have so much more appreciation of the
sites we were visiting.
As we have had time to reflect on our wonderful trip to New
York, we all admit that Daryl and the Walking Tour of Ground
Zero was surely one of the best highlights. Please let
Daryl know that our group of 21 women will never forget the
fabulous walking tour and our fabulous guide. We all voted
that he should get a BIG raise!!! Thank you again! JS
and ALL of Grandmary’s Girls
My family and I
went on a walking tour of Ground Zero on Thursday May 25, 2006
starting at 9:00am with your tour guide "Tony" and it was an
excellent tour.
Tony has a broad knowledge of NYC and Ground Zero in particular.
We were very happy with the tour and count it as one of the best
things we did while in NYC.
Tour taken on April 7th,
2006: The tour was fantastic and really visual to what happen on
9-11-01. Tony was very informative and explained everything in specific
detail. Also, very knowledgeable on the city’s progress and future
plans. I found Tony to be an excellent tour guide. I recommend that if
you take this tour, ask for Tony; you won’t be sorry. Be prepared to
walk on this tour.
Thanks Tony for
showing us a very important event that occurred in our country’s
history.
Jose and Marbeliz, Maimi FL
I
just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the walking tour. To finally
see The World Trade Center site was unbelievable. Also, it was nice to
see Wall Street and the various churches. Tony did a great job of not only
showing us the various sites but explaining them with some history and
humor. Before leaving New York, make sure you take this tour. You'll be
glad you did.
A.A. Kenosha, WI
I
went on the 9/11 tour with Martin as the tour guide this past Sunday
morning (11/6) and found him to be very eloquent and knowledgeable. If I
return to New York and wish to take another tour I will request Martin,
again. TM
We visited NY two weeks ago and took the lower island walking tour with
Martin.
He was great—a very nice guy and quite a character to boot. We couldn't
have asked for better. PB, Denver
We recently visited New York and we did lots of fun things but I would say
that among the best was the walking tour that we took.
It took in most of the things that we really wanted to see including the
subway system, which we were not sure we would feel safe doing alone,
after the trip we felt that the subway was just as safe as our own London
underground and traveled it many times after that.
We could not have had a better guide than Tony his knowledge was
unlimited, he was able to answer any questions we had and he made it so
much fun I will be recommending this tour to all our friends here in
the UK
THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL INTRODUCTION TO THE BIG APPLE
Absolutely terrific. A great mixture of humor, history, and
trivia. It's clear from Tony's presentation that September 11 is
not over yet. The effects on the people and businesses are still
happening every day. Tony kept a great pace, answered questions
with humor, and provided other suggestions on "must see" things
in New York (as well as what to avoid!). Thanks for a great
three hours. A great buy for the cost." ... Jerry R, Pottstown
PA
Just a quick note to say how much my fiancée and I appreciated
the knowledge and humor that Martin provided on our walking tour
earlier this month. It was truly an enjoyable experience!
Carrie and Ruben
Just a note to let you know how much we learned from Martin
during our Historical Walking Tour in New York City. Martin was
our guide on Thursday September 8th [2005]. Not only was he
informative but his personality made the 3 hours go by fast.
Thank you for having someone do this, that loves doing it and
loves New York City! Bravo! BLR Springfield Tennessee
James Berhnhardt, Chief Concierge at the Surrey Hotel,
recommends the Lower Manhattan Walking Tour. "Visiting the site
is emotional," he says. "It's good to experience it with other
people."
Reported in December 2003 issue of Providence Monthly:
Up early on Sunday morning, we met up with New York City
guide Tony DiSante at the Edison Hotel. Tony led us on an
informative three-hour walking tour of lower Manhattan that
began near Battery Park and ended at City Hall Park. We walked
along Wall Street and saw the famous New York Stock Exchange
Building. We marveled at the Gothic Revival architecture of the
century-and-a-half old Trinity Church, where Alexander Hamilton
is buried.
On the tour I learned that terrorists once struck lower
Manhattan in 1920. The feeble scars of their attack still
pockmark the JP Morgan Building. But the walking tour, of
course, is known much more for its stop at Ground Zero. The
seven-story cavity in the earth is so immense that trucks at the
bottom look like toys. A series of panels on the chain link
perimeter fence depict the history of the World Trade Center
towers and list every victim's name. Alex Speredelozzi,
Author
We really appreciated Tony’s knowledge of the sites, his sense
of history and his passion for the city. Our two children, ages
14 and 11 enjoyed the tour just as much as their parents. We
would recommend this tour to anyone we know that plans to go to
the New York area.
Sincerely,
Steve, Audrey, Brooke, Troy
Beaverton, Oregon
Thank you Tony DiSante for an informed and fun tour of Lower
Manhattan on. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will
certainly consider NYCVP when we are in New York again. BB
and KFP, Baltimore MD
Just wanted to pay a compliment for a job well done by Tony
DiSante,. Not only did he have a great sense of humor, but he
was a virtual talking library about NYC history and trivia. The
walking tour he guided us on was probably the highlight of my 2
days in New York. I will recommend your walking tour to anyone
visiting NYC for the first time.
Thanks! PA, Richmond VA 12/04
I took your Lower Manhattan walking tour. I would like to say it
was one of the highlights of my trip and I enjoyed it
immensely. In particular, I am hard of hearing, and I could
hear you quite well, in spite of NY being noisy!! You are very
knowledgeable and I also enjoyed your wit. I do plan on
returning to NYC whenever I can and will surely plan further
tours through your company. JC, Regina Saskatchewan
Darryl,
Thank you so much for the very informative tour of Lower
Manhattan. Our group really enjoyed themselves. Your personality
fit right into the mood of the group and we missed you on our
tour of Liberty and Ellis Island. Those audio tours weren't
nearly as fun as you.
I really just wanted you to know how much we appreciated your
expertise and time.
KAR, Rochester MN
“…feel more American than ever. – New York Post, March 3,
2002
The Lower Manhattan Walking Tour was one of the highlights of
this trip. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly,
professional, and had the best voice for a guide. Everyone could
hear him. - Mary Jane, tour participant June 2002
People around the world are coming to the WTC site every day to
make a connection between their visual memories and reality.
Ai Awaji, World Affairs Weekly.
My kids have talked about visiting Ground Zero countless times.
It really made an impression on them. Thanks again. -- FS,
Columbia MD August 2003
Hi there! This is a note to let you know how much we enjoyed
our downtown walking tour with Tony. This was a great way to
see all kinds of little spots we would have otherwise missed out
on. The subway ride was a new experience for our family. Thanks
Tony for a super tour! -- DB, August 2003
